The Value of Design(Ops)
building connected, efficient, and inspired creative communities
Time & Location
18 Oct 2022, 10:30 am – 12:30 pm NZDT
About The Event
As design continues to gain momentum inside organisations to solve complex business challenges, there is a need for a specific type of design leader with a specific focus. These leaders – aka Design Operations (DesignOps) – are dedicated to ensuring that designers have the right conditions to deliver business impact. In reality that means connecting dots and building bridges, navigating complexity, and removing roadblocks that can impede the flow of design work. DesignOps is not for the meek.
Join Michelle in this interactive session where she will share her journey building an in-house creative community of 215+ designers (inside a bank no less), whilst also establishing a DesignOps practice to support them all. She’ll go behind the scenes of running the “engine room” that has enabled designers to thrive at ANZ covering programs focused on efficiencies for tooling and systems, engagement to foster culture and community, and growth to help designers realise their full potential.
Walk away with:
- Understanding the role of DesignOps (and why it’s need now more than ever)
- How to gain buy-in and practical ways to bring DesignOps into your org
- Ways to foster connection, and how to design for belonging
- An approach to measuring the value of Design(Ops)
- Design Leaders responsible for shaping team and organisational culture
- Teams who are ready to set up or formalise their Design Ops function
- Design practitioners and those from related disciplines, curious to understand and explore design operations
